The Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore grows in the best vineyards of the Tenuta Argentiera. Only the best grape material from these locations is used for this spectacular Tuscan wine. The grape varieties are similar to those of a Médoc: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with the 2020 having a higher proportion than usual at 48% Merlot.
The aging takes place for 12-14 months in French barriques, which are renewed at 50% per vintage. The Argentiera is undoubtedly one of the greatest wines in Tuscany and therefore in all of Italy/Europe/the world.
The very good 2020 vintage is characterized by its perfect balance between tannins, acidity and body. The Argentiera 2020 will be able to age in the bottle for a long time. Only a few reviews of the 2020 vintage have been published so far:
97/100 Falstaff Magazine
96/100 James Suckling
Therefore, here are a few awards for the Argentiera 2019 to show the high level of this wine:
3 glasses of Gambero Rosso (top grade)
95/100 Decanter Magazine
19/20 Weinwisser
97/100 Parker
