Dalmatia is the home of the red grape variety Crljenak or also called Tribidrag, which became famous in California under the name Zinfandel. Hardly any attention was paid to this vine in its homeland, the Plavac Mali descended from it has outstripped it, but that is about to change again. The tribidrag "Stina" grows on the island of Brač, which with its white stones (Stina) gave this wine its name.
Fully in the style of this winery, it is a concentrated and juicy red wine with a Mediterranean influence. The expansion in 20% new and 80% used barriques gives it a noble flavor and additional structure.
This powerful Croatian probably wouldn't stand out too much in a sample of high-quality Californian Zinfandel wines.
