Sacris is the creation of Christoph Salzl , as a demonstration object, to which heights a Zweigelt can reach. 2011 was the first vintage, labeld with the white design of the newly created premium line and the extra heavy bottles. Usually, the Sacris spent 20 months in 100% new barrique barrels, giving the Zweigelt a new dimension of complexity and aromatic depth.
The 2017 Sacris has a bouquet of ripe cherries, cassis, blackberries, coconut and delicate toast aromas. In the taste it is wonderfully powerful, supported by its velvety tannins, it is vibrant and intense, in the long and harmonious finale you can find the cherry note of the Bouquet again. A great Zweigelt.
