Les Agrillats is an AOC vineyard in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Philippe Gavignet's Pinot Noir vines were mainly planted in 1962. The Domaine owns 0.65 hectares of vineyards on clay-limestone soils here, which provide for the cool finesse in this Burgundy. The ageing takes place in small wooden barrels, which are renewed to a third annually .
2017 is a very good vintage with a classic burgundy structure that combines an elegant freshness with good extract and ripe tannins. The fragrance of the Agrillats is characterized by red berries like raspberry, joined by the noble woody aroma of the barriques or Pièces, as the small barrels in Burgundy are called. The palate is rich in extract, with elegant tannins and beautiful length. A crystal clear Pinot, as connoisseurs appreciate it.
