Nostre Pais is the traditional grape mix of the southern Rhône, Grenache Noir, Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault are grown organically here. Michel Gassier believes in perfectly matured grapes, but avoids high alcohol content to keep the wine in a drinkable style, even the barriqueageing is very tender, only in used barrels. The wine gets its structure through a partial whole bunch pressing.
2017 was a tremendously charming vintage that was already very accessible right after bottling. Black cherries, dark berries and dried herbs show in the fragrance. Tight and silky on the palate, very soft tannins that give the long finish the necessary corset. A charmer with depth, decorated in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate with 90-92 / 100 points.
