Saint-Joseph is still an insider tip among the noble Syrah origins of the northern Rhône. Individual plots in this hilly AOC can compete with the best vineyards in the northern Rhône, but are usually a Saint-Joseph is much cheaper. Delas Frères treats its Francois de Tournon to 30% new oak during aging, the grapes come from the best locations in the communities of Vion, St.-Jean de Muzols, Mauves and Tournon. 2017 is a fantastic vintage in the northern Rhône, the grapes were very ripe and yet have a tannin structure rich in finesse for a long life. The complex scent is reminiscent of ripe blackberries, cassis and a light note of toast, it is concentrated and juicy on the palate, the fine tannins marble the body in the most noble form. Our tip!
