2017 is the third outstanding Rioja vintage in a row. The Altos R Reserva shows this impressively, already in the fragrance it indicates its fullness. The aroma is reminiscent of leather, dark berries, spices, as well as light roasted aromas and cherries. The taste with its smooth tannin is very typical of the opulent wine style of Altos R, while it also shows a lot of depth, not least due to the 40 to 80-year-old Tempranillo vines, which provide the grapes for this top wine. The wine is now in its best drinking phase, which it will keep for a few years.
