Chateau d'Escurac has a very long history dating back to the 11th century. The wine already enjoyed an excellent reputation in the 19th century, equal to a 5th Cru Classé.
From 1960 to 1989, the lowest point was reached when the wine was producedin the local cooperative.
Jean-Marc Landureau turned the helm and vinified the first year of the new era at Chateau d'Escurac in 1990, and reached the peak by winning the Coup de Cru Bourgeois contest in 1999.
Château d'Escurac has an excellent location on one of the highest hills of Médoc and produces a modern Médoc with soft tannins and a juicy fruit. The excellent vintage 2016 was rated in bordeauxtotal with 18/20 points , which is an extremely euphoric evaluation for this price range.
