The Hautes Terres by the Domaine de Fage grows on a plateau with pebbly red clay soil, which emphasizes fine wines from the Malbec grape. The Croisille family also manages to give the wine an immense delicacy and high tannin quality, rarely seen in a Cahors wine. Nothing can be found in this proverbial Cahors rusticity, the wine is charming, fresh, elegant, long and unmistakable. Gorgeous blueberry flavor. You have to try this to believe it. Biowein ABCert.
Sample note for the 2016 by Frank Rembold in June 2018: dark purple color. Ripe blackberries, plums, some vanilla, nice oak influence, some herbaceous notes. Smooth and elegant, structuring tannins, no trace rustic, but still very typical of a Malbec from Cahors, but very well vinified and from perfectly matured grapes. The young generation of French winemakers shows how to treat the Malbec grape. Unbelieveable good für around 12 €. Wow!
