The red version of Malvasia is rather rare. It can be found as Malvasia Nera mainly in Puglia, where the late maturing variety yields intense wines with low acidity. Conte di Campiano has bottled a beautiful specimen with his 66 - sessantesei, the wine has a ruby red color and aromas of berries and black cherries. The palate is intense, soft, juicy and long-lasting, the tannins are emphasized round.
