Les Cazetiers is one of the best 1er Crus in Gevrey-Chambertin. As with Clos St.-Jaques, one wonders why this vineyard was not classified as a Grand Cru. The Domaine Faiveley can draw on the full here, it owns half of this AOC. This wine is aged in moderately toasted barriques, 40-50% new oak. The result is a Burgundy classic with depth and complexity that is not dominated by the öak in any phase.
2017 is a vintage with freshness and classic structure that convinces with fine tannins and a good balance. 20 years of storage should not be a problem under good conditions.
