The 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut vintage champagne from Doyard-Mahé grows on the Côte des Blancs, in the municipality of Vertus, 18 km south of Epernay. The vineyards in Vertus are all classified as 1er Cru, the calcareous chalk soil offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of high-quality champagne. At the Côt de Blancs, the white Chardonnay plays the most important role. It is used 100% for this cuvée. This Millesime champagne is disgorged after a long seven years of aging on the lees, during which the bottles are repeatedly shaken by hand.

2013 was another excellent champagne vintage, so that the Blanc de Blancs was again bottled at Doyard-Mahé. Carol Doyard let this one in contact with the lees even longer than the 2012. The 2013 is again very complex and fine, has an enchanting freshness and a lot of depth, overall it is a bit classier in terms of acidity, which makes it an ideal aperitif champagne.

Again proof that there is no need for a brand for high-quality champagne. Individual quality from a small family winery.
