The vintage 2011 turned out to be flattering in the Médoc, the wines were rather soft from the beginning and have retained their charm over the years. The Cantemerle 2011 is now beautiful to drink, aromas such as black currants, coffee, vanilla and a hint of cedar wood characterize its bouquet. On the palate has a good concentration, the tannins are rather mild, yet it has a good structure and firmness.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rated it 91/100. Quote: "An elegant, successful 2011, Cantemerle has produced a finesse-styled wine with a dense ruby / purple color as well as copious notes of flowers, mulberries, raspberries and blueberries. With dramatic quality and purity, this medium-bodied effort possesses sweet tannins and a texture that builds incrementally. A lighter-styled, but beautifully crafted, well done 2011, it can be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years."
