The 890 Gran Reserva Selection Especial is one of the greatest Rioja wines. The Bodegas La Rioja Alta name their top product after the year the winery was founded in 1890. It consists mainly of Tempranillo, with a small part of Mazuelo added. The excellent 2005 vintage was aged in oak barrels for 6 years before it was bottled after the final selection.
