Krohn specializes in vintage port wines that have been stored in barrels for a long time, the so-called Colheita Ports. At Krohn, these are stored in small wooden barrels, the pipes, for at least seven years.
The Krohn Colheita Port 2010 has a yellow-brown color with a brick-red edge, as is usual for port wines that have been aged for a long time in the barrel. The harmonious and playful scent is reminiscent of molasses and butterscotch aromas. There is also dried fruit such as plums and raisins, a hint of black tea and the cedar wood aroma like a cigar box. On the palate it is supple and medium-sweet, but also shows an attractive drinkability, in the long finish it becomes more and more opulent, it is well balanced and has a good structure.
A vintage gift that can be stored for a very long time!
